Manners

Manners are one of my biggest pet peeves. When I taught first grade, I was apalled at how many children are NOT being taught to say please or thank you... Needless to say, that was first on my list! :) So, it goes without saying that we are already trying very hard to teach our kids manners.

Last night, I was hosting Supper Club at our house and spent most of the afternoon getting ready. Setting the table, making dessert, prepping for dinner. Sweet Pea of course noticed and asked me why I was doing all of this. I simply told her some of my friends were coming over for dinner and that she and Daddy and Lil Man were going to go upstairs and play... She promptly replied, "Mommy, can I join your friends please?" Oh, I thought I was gonna cry! Not only did she day please (without being reminded!) but "can I join your friends"? I was very impressed!
