Being a Mommy

So lately, Sweet Pea has enjoyed "being" a different person throughout the day. Usually, it's a princess, sometimes a ballerina, and lately, a Mommy. While this is very flattering and enough to melt my heart, today she came to me and said, "I'm gonna be a mommy. I've got two things to make me a mommy: lipstick and a purse. Now I'm a mommy!" Wow. Is that all it takes? :) I know better, but it's just too cute to hear her version of the truth.

Yesterday, she was a mommy as well, and yesterday's "mommy-task" was to make a grocery list and go to the store. Yep. I do that, too. Apparently a little bit too often. She sat and wrote diligently while I called out the spellings of the things she needed from the store. Here she is writing:

I don't know what impressed me more, how well she wrote (and knew how to write every letter I called out) or the items on her list... (that she came up with all by herself!)
In case it's hard to read, I'll tell you what it is. Grapes. Bread. Peanut Butter. Drinks. (a.k.a. Caprisuns) And apples.

Ah, to be a kid again. It's the simple things, huh?
